Digital inauguration – you're invited!

On Wednesday, 22 September, H.M. The King of Sweden will inaugurate the new museum Vrak – Museum of Wrecks. Everyone is invited to participate in the digital opening ceremony (held in Swedish).

We warmly welcome you to the celebration!

It’s not often these days that a museum is inaugurated, especially a new state-run museum. So follow the live opening right here on the Museum of Wrecks website on Wednesday, 22 September 2021, at 4 p.m. CET.

Doors open on 23 September

The museum’s doors on Djurgården in Stockholm will open on Thursday, 23 September. The exhibitions take visitors to the bottom of the Baltic Sea, where the history of the sea is told through shipwrecks and remains from different eras.

The museum is located on the recently opened Djurgårdsstrand promenade, which connects museums and restaurants while offering a stunning view of Stockholm’s beautiful silhouette and boating life. Vrak Café & Bar offers tasty food and drink options, and the museum shop sells unique gifts from small-scale producers in Sweden and around the Baltic Sea.
