Free audio guide
Discover Wreck at your own pace and immerse yourself in the exhibitions. The audio guide is free and you can listen on your own mobile phone, whenever it suits you. Remember your headphones!
Dive with VR
As close to a real dive as you can get – without getting wet! Try your hand at being a marine archaeologist: Take a virtual dive, analyze the find you find and learn about different archaeological methods and searching archives. Suitable for all ages!
Listen to the Baltic Sea
People have lived by the sea, made a living from it and traveled with trade goods, ideas and a desire to discover. Start your visit by hearing what the sea itself has to say, in an immersive underwater experience in the museum's purpose-built cinema hall.
Discover a mythical wreck
With digitally salvaged objects, holograms, films and stories, the mythical ship Resande Man comes to life again. With the Vrak app, which you can download via QR code on site, you can also experience the wreck in the exhibition room using AR. Don't miss this!
See samples from Vasa's sister ships
The ship Vasa had several siblings, including the Äpplet, which was built at the same time as the Vasa. The Äpplet met a better fate but was still deliberately sunk in Vaxholm in 1659, only to be found by Vrak's marine archaeologists in 2021. The museum contains wood samples taken from the Äpplet, but the ship remains at the bottom, where diving is prohibited.
Experience the Viking exhibition
The history of the first Vikings began earlier than we thought. In a visiting exhibition produced by Saaremaa Museum in Estonia, a ship find with buried warriors makes us look at the beginning of Viking history with new eyes. In Vikings Before Vikings you get to see real Viking artifacts such as swords and arrows, explore and learn more about the finds, watch films, dress up in Viking clothing, solve riddles, row like a Viking across the Baltic Sea and much more!
Café and Museum shop
Mackverket keeps the café and bar open during the same hours as the museum. Here you can both eat and have coffee. In the summer the outdoor seating is open, with a lovely view of Lake Mälaren with boats in the harbor and people strolling along Djurgårdsstrand.
The museum shop has a carefully selected range of high quality and a focus on sustainable products that are beautifully produced.
